Correspondence with government regarding Mosque attacks inquiry

On 22 March 2019, we wrote to the Attorney General, Hon David Parker, calling for transparency in the inquiry into the racist terrorist attacks on Christchurch mosques:

The Human Rights Foundation considers that for an inquiry into “what all relevant agencies knew or could or should have known … and whether they could have been in a position to prevent the attack” to be effective, it must be conducted independently and at arms-length from the Government, and particularly from the agencies concerned. It is also essential that the inquiry be conducted with the maximum degree of transparency possible, so that the public may understand both what was done wrong, and what was done right.
